The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a discovery service for open access books. DOAB provides a searchable index to peer-reviewed monographs and edited collections published under an open access licence, with links to the full texts of the publications at the publisher’s website or repository.

Internet Archive: eBooks & Texts

The Internet Archive is an American nonprofit digital library founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle. It provides free access to collections of digitized materials including ebooks.  Also, OpenLibrary is an open, editable library catalog, building towards a web page for every book ever published.

Project Gutenberg 

Project Gutenberg is a library of over 70,000 free eBooks.  The world’s great literature is here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired.
